Bangor & BelfastJunior Taekwon-Do classes create a fun and inviting environment that will make your child feel at home, surrounded by supportive peers and an experienced instructor who is passionate about teaching Taekwon-Do. It focuses on the fundamentals of Taekwon-Do such as Balance, Coordination and Discipline by Implementing the five tenets of Taekwon-Do (Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit ). The Junior Taekwon-Do program is based around the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) syllabus for the first two beginner belts, broken down into smaller sections that is personalised to the needs and abilities of children, ensuring that they progress at their own pace and have a blast while doing it.

Meet Your Coach
Classes are led by Mr Dean Pritchard, a 4th Degree Black Belt with over a decade of Taekwon-Do training and competition experience. Dean began training in 2010 and has competed internationally in countries including Mexico, Holland, Estonia, Italy, Belarus and Greece.
As head coach of Elite Taekwon-Do NI, he focuses on helping beginners build strong foundations in technique, confidence and discipline while training in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Do I need any previous martial arts experience to join?
No previous experience is required. Our classes are designed for all ability levels, including complete beginners. Instructors guide each student step-by-step so everyone can learn safely and progress at their own pace.
What should I wear for my first class?
For your first class you can wear comfortable sports clothing such as a T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms. Once you decide to continue training, you will be able to purchase an official Taekwon-Do uniform (dobok).
What age groups can join your Taekwon-Do classes?
We offer Taekwon-Do classes for children aged 5–8, older children, teenagers and adults. Classes are structured to suit each age group, ensuring training is safe, engaging and appropriate while helping students build confidence, discipline and fitness.
How do I book a free trial class?
You can book a free trial directly through our website using the Book Free Trial button or by contacting the club. This allows you to experience a class before committing to regular training.
How long does it take to progress through the belts?
Progress depends on attendance, effort and skill development. Students typically move through the belt grading system step-by-step, demonstrating improvements in technique, discipline and understanding of Taekwon-Do.
