Elite Taekwon-Do NI is an ITF Taekwon-Do club based in Bangor and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Founded in 2024, the club provides structured martial arts training for children, teenagers and adults in a supportive environment led by experienced black belt instructors.

We currently run 8 classes per week across our Bangor and Belfast locations, offering training for different ages and experience levels.Elite Taekwon-Do NI is a proud member of the Irish Taekwon-Do Association (ITA) under the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF). All training and gradings follow the official ITF syllabus, ensuring structured progression and recognised standards.

MR. DEAN PRITCHARD
Head Coach, 4th Degree Black BeltDean began training in Taekwon-Do in 2010, earning his 1st Degree Black Belt in 2013, 2nd in 2017, 3rd in 2021 and 4th Degree in 2025. A former Irish and British champion in sparring, patterns, and special technique, he has competed internationally in Mexico, Holland, Estonia, Italy, Belarus, and Greece. MR. KARL SHAW
4th Degree Black BeltMr. Karl Shaw is a 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwon-Do. He began his Taekwon-Do journey back in 2006. He was a member of the Northern Ireland National Team from 2016 to 2019, competing at both European and World Championship levels. Over the years, he has earned numerous medals in Sparring and Patterns across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Netherlands and Mexico.
Mr. Shaw achieved his 1st Degree Black Belt in 2012, followed by his 2nd Degree in 2016, 3rd Degree in 2018, and was promoted to 4th Degree in 2022 during an International Instructor Course (IIC) held in Belfast.
Following his competitive career, Mr. Shaw transitioned to umpiring and became the lead umpire representing Northern Ireland at international championships. Since 2017, he has been actively teaching Taekwon-Do, developing multiple national and international champions. He remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Taekwon-Do athletes.
